Malina suffered from that issue the least - I have to give them that though
EDIT: pagebreak'd myself, heck yes

Pitfalls and Aphelion both suck major dick. If you seriously 5’d this then you really need to be ashamed of who you are.

I still don't get how Einar gets hate for the turn the band has taken, since he's been writting most music on each album, and it's not that he's only now demanding the band plays his music.
Also, on Aphelion there's three songs written by the whole band (Silhouette, Castaway Angels, and Nighttime Disguise[also with fans pitching ideas]), and one written by the bassist (Have You Ever?). Do these songs look so drastically different than what Einar composes? Does Nighttime Disguise differ so much in terms of heavyness to The Sky is Red or songs on Malina?

Reading some of these comments gives me 2000‘s “my favourite band doesn‘t play metal anymore and I‘m mad at them“ flashbacks.

I'm honestly feeling a lil disappointed after a first listen. I get the musical concept of modern Leprous with all it's emphasis on the vocals. Some of these tracks work well, others just seem to meander through the realm of early 2000's pop-cheese like 'On Hold'. Really can't stand that track lol

My issue is when that happens people always try to find someone to blame, like the front man, or a band member leaving. Like, sometimes bands just choose to evolve and change their sound as a group

I especially don't get why people want the band to change their name. Like ... it's the same group most of the time. And even when they change members or the singer or change the style and sound radically different, it's still absolutely legit to keep the name

Agreed, so far I‘m not really feeling most of this either, but some of these comments are so childish.
I kinda like On Hold the most, although it might be a little repetitive. Love how the different instrumental layers build up.

@kalkwiese Especially when the sound change has been so gradual, it totally makes sense when you listen to the albums in order. This style is not surprising at all.

These guys excel in songwriting, dynamics and choosing the right timbre, so making it all fit together. The instrumental parts alone aren't as shimmering as most prog, except for the drums and maybe the strings on here. Reinventing yourself as a band isn't key for making ppl listen to your music, but it can add up to a momentum that some bands strive for.
