*already warming up to Surviving a Smile but the opener has not gotten any better to me

Polar Equals isn't really a song and I don't know how I feel about that, or the tacked-on glitch outros that a few songs too many have. Feels very fan servicey

Didn't find the glitch outros tacked on. Seemed to just flow and follow the themes of the songs they are in.

Now that may be taste because Ive always loved the idea of a little random treat at the end of a song

most of them don't feel tacked on, but on a few instances, it certainly does imo

Their vocals are perfect for the instrumentals. The glitch outros I could do with or without, don’t really affect the experience for me either way.
Tracks 4-7=greatest run of songs ever?

The two best songs are in there so ye

Just realized these are probably the best Sweet Trip vocals. The imperfections are done in a way that make them perfect.

I love the stupid distorted vocal samples that start a couple of the songs
“I’m supposed to r e c o r d ? ? ! ? OHHH!!!”

Love how they blend the vocals with the instruments so well. there’s so many little moments where a vocal melody pops up and then morphs into a synth pad or a guitar lick

also love how spaced out the production is. Some songs it feels like every single sound in the mix is constantly in motion, whether it’s being run through a filter sweep, panning to the side, phasing in and out, etc
the production also seems pretty light and airy most of the time, and light on bass. It doesn’t make any one element stand out more than another, which is nice cause it means you notice and latch on to different things with every listen

Don't really like the opening 5 seconds of Weight of Comfort, but parts of it is basically pure 60s psychedelia and it's beautiful.

i love how polar equals says fuck it and yeets in the sickest pop punk riff for no apparent reason towards the end

Pop punk riff? Idk about that I took it as unequivocally space rock. But yeah that is turning into one of my favorite songs, the beginning of Polar Equals is such a classic sound.
