3rd and final listen thoughts:
1.John L - This song gets worse with every listen. Gross nu-prog mess that thinks it's King Crimson, but isn't. 1/5
2.Marlene Dietrich - Every King Crimson ripoff needs an I Talk to the Wind/Cascade and Candance type track I guess, and this one is a bit bossa nova. 3/5
3.Chondromalacia Patella - I admit the bass is good, but this song also kinda reminds me of jam rock. What if black midi turned into a jam band guys? By the end of it, it's just boring. 3/5
4.Slow - This song kinda actually works. Maybe it's because Cameron is singing, so I don't have to listen to Geordie's awful voice. The guitar is doing nothing for me though. 3.5/5
5.Diamond Stuff - 3-minute slow intro. This song's late-game pick-up isn't even good guys. I waited 4 mins into a 6 min song for it to get a bit jammy? 2/5
6.Dethroned - The poor attempt at King Crimson wank is back. Fuck, this sucks so much. The noisy ending is cool though except now Geordie's mumbling through it, so not really. 2/5
7.Hogwash and Balderdash - IDK why this one works, but it does. The cool percussion intro and fast tempo leave little room for the bullshit of the other tracks. It had to get proggy in the middle, lame. 3.5/5
8.Ascending Forth - This is trying so hard to be sophisticated and epic, but it's just like a slow nerdy slog. I'd hate this even if it were 3 mins, so the fact that it's almost 10 is just frustrating. 0.5/5
Raw score = 2.3125/5, but I'm rounding down because it has no 5/5 songs and was overall quite a frustrating listen. 2/5

Nice track by track review you should submit it

how dare you round this down

Ascending Forth is a horrible song. I can see them building it up in their minds as some sort of opus though.

"I can't hear king crimson in Marlene Dietrich. Is this a meme?"
Nah it's just a reference to the fact it's a slow acoustic emotional track that follows what's essentially a heavy King Crimson worship opener, not that the song itself is King Crimsony of itelf. It was more a shot at the opener than track 2
