Well, I was really excited for this record...
Hail the Sun was one of my favorite discoveries during these covid times. But man, this whole album sounds exactly the same, and I don't mean the genre, it just sounds like a really long song (and not a very good one) and it gets immediately boring after the first listen (a first listen I didn't really enjoy either because it all felt the same, no highlights, no nothing). I'm on my 4th listen and I can't tell you my favorite Track because this all sounds the same...
Can't understand how's this still near a 4. Mental Knife was way more interesting in my opinion...
Maybe HTS will reach their Wake and EP heights on their next LP...

since ya'll looooooooove comparing these guys to DGD: Afterburner > NAF. both have the same issues in terms of sounding stale but AB has has more highlights and those said highlights are def better than most of the highlights here (but same is kinda true for the lowlights in both respects lol)

Yeah I like this a lot more than Afterburner, but I'm kinda with Steak. I don't think they sound similar to DGD at all so I don't really get the comparisons to them.
These guys remind me a lot more of Circa Survive and The Fall of Troy. Like if those two bands had a child it would probably sound something like Hail The Sun.

these guys sound nothing like Glassjaw (though a fair bit like Circa) and fucking lol'd at theSpirit, one of the chillest and least contentious peeps on this site, being thrown under the bus overhead. don't think anyone has ever taken a harder sputbullet for me

That's true Steak. At first I tended to compare them with DGD but now I don't think it makes sense.
That won't stop me from saying they are much better than DGD though : ]
They sound more like a mix of Circa Survive and TMV. Tbh they just sound awesome and I am so glad to have this album to listen to.
