It’s quite the composition, and definitely a step up in intricacy re long-form song writing throughout the new LP, but it still doesn’t conjure much of any notable reaction in me, compared to the ridiculous heights of something like Mirrors are More Fun…
I think I’m struggling through the flat production, less varied vox styles, lack of textural depth - the compositions are interesting, but the presentation is not, I think

I agree regarding the production and textures. That’s where it’s letting me down a lot too. There’s an odd smoothness to the feeling of everything together, not enough roughness and punch. And I’m not digging the sound of the snare. Sounds like a dildo is slapping against it; there’s an odd floppiness in the sound
