There's far too many 5/5 ratings in this thread, 3/5 at best, Aenima is way better
Dictionary reference term for Subjective.

1.

a) Proceeding from or taking place in a person's mind rather than the external

world: a subjective decision.

b) Particular to a given person; personal: subjective experience.

* it has a 5/5 it had better be mindblowingly good. A must own... even outside of the genre. Something that could change the opinion of someone who didnt like the genre.
* A 4/5 would be Exceptional within the Genre. Something good for introducing someone to the genre but probably wouldnt change their mind about it.
* 3/5 would be something someone who likes the genre should probably pick up.
* 2/5 would be something someone who is diehard for the genre should at least know about.
* 1/5 terrible, terrible stuff..
Since Bartender labelled it in the Rock/metal genre, this CD is certainly not mindblowingly good, a must own, and it certainly wouldn't change someone's opinion on rock/metal if they hated it

I loved this album when I first got it, but it has sort of declined for me. I still listen to it occasionally though.

My favorite track is Lateralus.

That part of Ticks & Leeches right after he says "suck me dry" for the last part is nuts. I orgasm everytime I hear it. This album rules

I agree with your review...this is really a great album and all the songs are lovable....Maynard has a great impact with his great voice (the grudge's scream for ex.) and all the other members are perfect....Danny anyway rules with his rythms like thicks and leeches and durin' the Lateralis bridge....
my rating 5/5.....

I highly, and I mean, HIGHLY doubt Maynard damaged his vocal chords from screaming in one song. Trust me, Maynard is a trained vocalist, and I am positive that he would know how to scream correctly. The amount of damage that comes from screaming for 5 minutes incorrectly is like an hour of losing your voice (it happened to me last weekend, dumbest relapse ever).

And to lose your voice for that long a period of time would be the affect of a illness, or YEARS of screaming incorrectly, like KSE's last vocalist.

Easily my favourite album of all time, an absolute masterpiece (it took me a while to get into ;-).

I don't get how it ended up with four stars though, nearly every track gets 5/5.

i've always thought that this is TOO long and doesn't work as an album (i can't understand the track order), but it's great as a compilation of music pieces

I then offer a suggestion to you borja. Listen to this CD in the order of 6,7,5,8,4,9,13,1,12,2,11,3,10. The songs actually flow together better in certain places. Especially 13 to 1. It's just a suggestion from a theory I found online based on 'spiralling out' I don't know if this was posted in this thread before, but from all the comments I've read I haven't seen it yet. You'll obviously need to do this on computer but like I said, give it a try. It may change your outlook on the CD as a whole.

The scream on the first track alone is worth the price of admission.

Ticks and Leeches is like a wall made of pure awesome heaviness crushing your head.

Awesome CD.

5/5, but mainly because I'm a hopeless fanboy.
