Album Rating: 3.5
My base rating for the album is 3,5.
Let's see where it will take me from here.

Production has to be pretty bad or really good for me to think for it be a pos/neg contribution on an album experience

Production can make a good song sound great or can make a great song only sound good.
So important to have the right sound, mix, and volume.

Titan and Willie know. Production plays a big part in the enjoyment experience for me. It plays a larger parr than most people think, even if subconsciously

That's right Omair. The word 'experience' is the key. That's why I've spent a few bucks on the sound system that I have in my home - because that's the other half of the equation.

Totally agree. You can't fully immerse yourself into the music without spending at least some money on some good listening gear. Of course, there's a law of diminishing returns on cost versus quality, but I've found around $300 for headphones to be a sweet spot.

I've got Audio Technicas for $150 that have been running for 6 years now. Still the best set of cans that I've owned so far, though I've never spent more than that on headphones

I've had the $300 Sony and the $300 Bose headphones, but I ended up with Audeze Mobius planar magnetic headphones for about $300 and they totally opened up my eyes. If you're unfamiliar with planar magnetic headphones, you should do some reading.

For headphones, I use Sennheiser Momentums. I believe they were around $300.

They're another great brand that I'd recommend over Sony or Bose headphone. Bowers & Wilkins is another one.

Yes Willie, I have to say, I'm very happy with them

“You can't fully immerse yourself into the music without spending at least some money on some good listening gear.”
Dunno about that, as much as it’s nice to have higher-quality stuff there are probably a lot of people just as passionate about music who can’t afford it. That’s why I ultimately boil it down to songwriting unless the production is truly horrendous and missing the mark of what it’s going for
Tbf I don’t think you were going for “you need better equipment to understand music more”, but I don’t think super hi fidelity stuff is always requires even though it’s nice to have

Yeah. I definitely wasn't saying you need the high end stuff to understand the music more, but there's really no denying that it takes a certain level of gear to be able to hear all the nuances and subtleties and to really be able to hear it like it was recorded in the studio.

Fellas, I'm not so sure The Longest Shadow is in my top 3 on here, despite how awesome the first 6 minutes or so is.

The beginning part of that song is awesome, but the vocal-driven second part isn't up to the same standard. Having said that, "The Longest Shadow" is one of my favorite songs on the album, though.

In all honesty, 10 of these songs are among my favorites

Where's the 5 then huh bub? :-D
Longest Shadow is probably still my favourite, damn guys you don't enjoy the outro? Rhythmic heaven. Ranking really doesn't matter though, album is great as a whole
In other news the album's finally off the front page. 6th to 15th Nov, hell of a run

Don't provoke me Omair cause I'll show you!
And technically, it's still on the front page, albeit smaller ...
