It is indeed lovely, but it's too full/saturated for my tastes. I have the same problem with some of Snarky Puppy's stuff for instance. Also concerning some of the instruments they use, they are in my allergy zone sadly.

I think Georgie and the lady from Hiatus have similar singing voices and the way they approach their vocal melodies, and both artists have a kind of trip hoppy jazz styling. That's where I hear similarities. This is a little more chill than HK and def a more accessible listen, tho

huh interesting. I think on recording soul/slow jazz/r&b can feels so sterilised, especially when the whole album is kinda the same vibe. Just way too easy to disengage
But in person, I love seeing and feeling the musicianship and small imperfections, especially with vocals.

I imagine this would be something that would be cool at a bar/restaurant/lounge type of setting, where you could sit at a table with friends and eat/drink and carry on a conversation that doesn't require screaming at each other like at a rock concert
