@DD Many years ago she was in a band called Stabb plus she had a solo project called Killing Mood. She joined CBP with Mankind the Crafty Ape in 2012 I think and became a full member at some point.

Dewi if the only album i've heard from this project is the White Light one, from which I liked maybe 4-5 songs, will this spark joy?
|
| |
A fountain of joy, my friend, White Light was a matchbox, this is the holy eternal flame.

Okay lol imma attempt to listen this eve, am expecting Greate Thinges
|

Yeah ok this is cool.
The vocal harmonies are nice (in track 1, Cavanagh of course)! It's grand in scope and the drama works. Instrumentation and mix/production are good too.

Wait til you hear Gaahl crooning

Almost there! Currently Lost is blasting through the room, almost reminds me of The Naked And Famous and Editors (in a good way!).

Yes yes yes Ghaal is awesome on that track, plus those guitars are super nice.
This record is great Dewi!

Atmosphere, production, vocals, everything here is amazing.
The lyrics are weirdly(?) reachable...still figuring if its a good or a bad thing.

Pleasantly surprised by this record. House of Fools, Lost and Everything I Say are among the best songs I've heard this year.

''wow this opens big'' relatable feels.

Hope you like Bauhaus Johnny

Having trouble processing this one.
Ellengaest? From Beowulf meaning powerful monster? Depression?
I’m not good at discerning lyrics, but this might hit to close to home for me.
Would be interested in hearing others interpretations of the meaning of this album. I don’t think it’s just a collection of songs.
Upon further research not surprised to find:
Vic Chestnut, suicide
Bauhaus cover, She’s in Parties, about Marilyn Monroe: Suicide

It's one of those albums. I can hear it's great, but it's not my thing for some reason.
This complicates the rating.

I've only heard their albums from White Light onward. For some reason didn't hear the previous ones but I read that they've got that vintage 70's prog feel and that doesn't appeal to me at all. Ellengaest and Great Escape are both great albums (especially Ellengaest), but they seem more like Katatonia/Anathema style melancholic rock than anything retro. Is it still worth giving a shot to the pre-WLG albums?
