It's a fine song. I like some of the riffs, but as a whole and as an opener it's quite underwhelming

idk I thought it was a sick opener. Appealed to me way more than the other times I've tried these guys

I haven't enjoyed this band in the past because of the vocals, but I'll give this a try later today.

It sometimes sounds like he has a hard time hitting the higher notes, when it didn't feel that way on Vector. I like how the production is better here though. Doing a Vector/Virus run is too jarring imo, although it's pretty diverse it's just too much material. Glad they split the two records up

Mastering is still pretty flat. Their older albums had more dynamic production

Seems a little better than Vector tbh but I need more time to rate it. Agreed about mastering, sometimes it all blends together (and I'm using headphones with a decent scene)

Hot take: Prosthetic is a poor mans Puzzle Box.

'Only Stars' shows that he definitely forces his vocals too much in some places. There are moments where he doesn't even hit the right note and that's a no no.

Not better than Vector.
I don't see the connection between Puzzle Box and Prosthetic tbh, can you elaborate on that? But Puzzle Bix would win either way, no contest

Prosthetic seems more akin to The Good Doctor, in similarity as a song and placement in the album

Idk man, I don't see the connection to The Good Doctor. Yea, both are openers, but they're doing very different things imo. Prosthetic is like little else in their discog, I'll give it that

Prosthetic is nothing like Puzzle Box - it's a fairly straightforward verse-chorus song. Puzzle Box has a lot more going on as far as its structure and arrangement goes.

I feel like Virus is more memorable than Vector. Have been listening to both back to back and I remember more parts from Virus, although it came out only a few days ago.

I like their ode to fear factory In the first 40 seconds of the album

Vector feels more distinct and memorable to me, though that may be because I jammed the shit out of it for the longest time

Vector is insanely catchy and memorable. It really is a no bullshit album

Yeah, Vector feels way more distinct for me too. Not that much of a fan of this record tbh, might drop my rating...
