beyond the first song the Loveless thing is still around but a lot of the album gets more riffy - 'Cloud City' could almost be 'Betty' era Helmet during the most angular moments

Helmet, Failure, Hum, Quicksand etc - so many good 90's bands that are so influential but didn't make it big.

Helmet were second rung down on the mainstream, pretty big

Quicksand you'd heard of, cult following, but the others totally obscure back then yeah

Cool, I'm born in 91 so wasn't really there to witness unfortunately. Thank God for Sputnik.

Helmet played one of the first festivals I ever went to aged about 15 or 16 - Brighton Rock Festival

Bodycount, Helmet, Pitchshifter, Korn (I loved Korn then, got stuff signed),The Levellers and a new band no one had heard of before making their first trip to the UK...Limp Bizkit lol

I haven't listened to the full thing yet but I sampled that track and was kind of shocked at how MBV it sounded

Even my dad loves this, and he's a boomer who thinks music ended with Led Zeppelin.

it’s annoying that someone would say “this ain’t no bedhead or swervedriver” as if this sounds like either of those bands at all, or like it’s trying to

man cloud city deserves so much more love, hard to call it a god tier track on the album when shapeshifter n folding exist, but man it is sooooo good

folding is almost like if Whirr had 30 more years experience and weren’t total pieces of shit
