I want to like this a lot more than I actually do, somehow it just misses the mark, I don't get the love for Parachute, it's good but not amazing, like a 3/5 track for me, but a lot of the album just blends together a lot. Also not a huge fan of the tones they went for on the guitars, the drums sound ok. A good example of my issue with the guitar tones is the beginning of predawn, there is a dissonance after every note that sounds really strange, I KNOW this is what Yvette was going for in this track, but I am just not a fan of it. And, unfortunately, this dissonance is apparent on every track.

I think Yvette is definitely a virtuoso, but like many virtuosos, they don't have the best compositional chops. I saw that Toby Driver gave her a shoutout when she got a tattoo of the Choirs of the Eye album art. I was thinking, 'damn, she should get some compositional advice from Toby'.

A part of me just wants to hear a straight-up shred album from her, like... Hiromi, but instead of piano shred, it's Yvette guitar shred, but it has to be the guitar tone of Currents, we got a bit of it on Charybdis, more of that but faster... I'm intrigued how fast she can actually play lol (I know shred isn't the be all end all of guitar playing)

Yeah honestly kinda boring, but still fun. Tones are great but nothing to really draw you in and keep you coming back which has been a recurring issue post effloresce for me.
