"only problem i really have with it is that Hayley sounds like she's trying a bit too hard to sound eclectic. some of the shit she attempts here (vocally) just feels a bit forced and fails to impress."
leave it to potsy to articulate my issues with this album better than I can

even if the length of this record and number of songs are thematically relevant, it's still too long. there's a lot of great stuff but it would be much stronger if several tracks were cut

I agree completely. Could have been a superb 10 track LP but as it's pretty bloated as it currently exists.

Yeah, I don't understand why the third release couldn't have just been separate. They were under the Petals For Amor name, after all, their thematic cohesion would have been apparent. Instead, if you bought the first two you'd have to buy them again at the price of an LP, gaining only another 5 songs. I guess that's what frustrates me the most. It's silly.

The album’s only weakness IMO is that it sounds like she is just throwing different styles together more than forming an identity. But it works as a listening experience since the songs are uniformly strong.

My OCD only allows me to 5 albums with 10 tracks, no more no less.

Tempted to write a review of this one because this one, as awesome as it is from a lyrical/thematic perspective, barely touches on the music itself and how the music relates to the lyrics. I totally get why some don't care for this or find issues with it. You really have to be in the right headspace to allow yourself to float through its evolving moods for nearly an hour.

Well, it's definitely not Paramore. After one listen, I'm not impressed.
