Nocte, I have read the other review, the question wasn't loaded in any way. And despite the difference in our ratings, you're entitled to your own. Sorry if it came off as "stop attacking a band I like!!!!" or something.
"No doubt that HSB's 2020 album is looong… but it's built on better than decent musicianship, diverse tonal ranges and somewhat explorative ideas."
Thanks for answering. Personally I've listened to both albums, and found them comparable, which is why I was prompted to ask how you felt after reading both reviews. To me, both reinvigorate and reaffirm either band's sound. But that's just like, my opinion, man, and I will freely admit I'm not as articulate as a regular reviewer like yourself to explain why I feel that way.

@Laen,
Not to be narky. Although I'll admit I've had my share of short-minded numbskulls throw shit around like it's nothing. I wasn't fully sure I answered your question, but I deemed it an honest enough query to give what I thought was an honest answer.
I'm glad that you can separate the matter of opinions in your quest for album feedback/comparisons/whateveryouwant-tocallit.

Thrill Seeker through RaR are all distinct albums. It's everything after that I take issue with.

I envy you.

If they all had identical mixes I may feel differently, that's a huge part of my gripe with their current trend. As it is though, I feel that those albums all have their own flavor, despite similarities in songwriting.

Constellations sounds absolutely nothing like Messengers (sarcasm)

I can't remember a single fucking thing that happens on Phantom, and it seems to be getting panned a bit here, gather it's not worth listening too?

I'm sure it's worth the objectivity boost.

Up till RaR you could at least give them the benefit of the doubt (I mean, they 'hit' their best sound on Constellations which is like two discs before) and RaR had some tracks that moved 'out' of the typical ABR song
After that they just went full recycle mode
|
| |
The only positive change they could've made was to get seriously heavy or more progressive. Otherwise you might as well call it a career

I love you too man but PA just went in one ear and out the other whenever I jammed it, the back half of this at least peaked my interest with Dismembered Memory, Bloodletter, and the last two songs. Back half of this is all solid whereas I only like Frost on PA
