Better than the trilogy and that's about it

this and the trilogy are both awful, though I'd rather listen to this simply because it's catchier

comparing any of those releases to 21cb is sinful though

RevRad was sorta meh. I remember liking the opening track but the rest fell into a fuzzy forgettable-ness.

I personally think the cut-off point is post-American Idiot. Everything past has ranged from trash (a lot of Dos) to meh (this, the rest of the trilogy) to just good (most of RevRad and 21CB), they haven't released anything above a 3.5 in over 15 years sans a couple singles.

Agree with that. AI --> 21cb was a large drop-off. 21cb is still 3.5-core for me. There was yet another, even larger, drop-off between 21cb and everything after.

21cb is good. rr is boring but mostly inoffensive. everything else is shit

21CB is a 2.5-3 outside of like three or four songs I will die on that hill. RevRad has but a few songs that push it above a 3 for me.

Could you imagine if these guys just hung it up after AI. They'd be so damn revered

Some people still hate American Idiot, especially the ones who got into them at their punk-iest (they viewed Warning as them selling out, which it kinda was, then AI as a continuation).

Personally AI is what got me into GD in the first place, and on a larger scale, modern/2000s music in general. Before AI, I refused to listen to anything besides Pink Floyd, Queen, Led Zeppelin, etc.

Had they hung it up after AI, I'd respect their discog more, but I'd also be upset that I never got to see how they'd choose to follow it up.

Maybe I should revisit 21CB ... I have only listened to it just after AI and I think the steep drop off made it a bitter experience. With that said I agree with Sowing that this is better than the trilogy just on sheer catchiness. Rev Radio I thought was just a snore.

Last Green Day album I actually tolerated was "Nimrod". The last record where there was still some fun left. Their death rattle should I say.

21CB is solid. The concept and the length is bloated, but the songs are pretty good and, compared to everything that followed, even quite creative.

Of course a Cure album would be better than this to yall, even though Pornography's production is so bad the drums are drowned out so hard
