Putting aside what Tim did, his vocals on this are just downright bad

Also the Cult of Luna drama was so depressing because the comment sections were all filled with angry AILD fans saying "who are these irrelevant losers lmao ive never even heard of them, tim did his time he said sorry its time to forgive and forget bro i bet this scrawny loser would never say that to his face xD"

I have no problem with Cult of Luna having an opinion on the matter, but I thought it was uncool that their representative was so judgy. Tim was most certainly guilty, but none of us truly know the full story or how much he's atoned for his mistakes. Cult of Luna could be absolutely right that Tim is a carleton, but rational reasoning would suggest that we withhold our inditements until we are omniscient of the situation. From a societal standpoint, Tim did his time and that's enough. If they take issue with that, their issues are with the judicial and prison system. That's a larger systemic problem and a totally different can of worms. At that point you have bigger fish to fry than Tim Lambesis and they should devote more of anger towards the bigger picture.

"From a societal standpoint, Tim did his time and that's enough."

if the undercover cop he had talked to turned out to be an actual hitman, his wife would be dead and he would probably still be in jail for like the next 30 years. so, maybe "he did his time" isn't the best argument when the only reason he's not still in jail was completely out of his hands

if anything CoL weren't judgmental enough, wish more bands would join em honestly

Idk man the whole "did his time so we should forgive him" thing really isnt something i can support for a guy who attempted to murder his wife lmao. I mean he got an incredibly light sentence too considering most attempted murderers get like 15+ years and are literally never able to hold a steady job again once they get out. Meanwhile Tim just gets the old band together and starts playing shows and making money again like nothing happened.

Also on the music, i actually like the bassists vocals. His cleans are whiny but pretty technically good and his harsh backing vocals are actuallh much better than Tim's drunken grumbling

At this point, I think Tim's rep would be in a better state if he finished the job lol

1) Hypotheticals do not matter. The reality is that the hitman was a cop. What you're talking about is intention and all of that is taken into account when sentencing.

2) I said from a "societal standpoint". Nobody is saying you have to forgive or forget what the guy did. The laws and consequences we follow have judged the man and punished him accordingly. That much should be respected. If you feel that the sentence was too light, which I also do, then your issue is far beyond Tim Lambesis.

3) Everyone talks about this situation as if their owed an apology by Tim. We should forgive him? I don't know or really give much of a shit about his personal life. I enjoy the music he makes. The only people he really owes anything are the people he hurt. I'm not a religious man, but I try to leave the judgements for God.

apparently the band is involved in giving back, so the COL dude is wrong on that front.

Sam Carter from Architects doesn't like that Tim is making music again. Definitely makes me respect him more.
