looking forward to the new one, although wary about antonoff producing. rostam's production really elevated this (especially the drums) and antonoff is everywhere lately. guess we'll see

The idea of Antonoff producing a Clairo album makes me so happy

it's probably got something to do with antonoff but i am just very disappointed at how generic it sounds compared to what rostam got out of her on Immunity. it's almost impossible to imagine we'll get something as vibrant and alive as Sofia if Blouse is the template and maybe that isn't the point but it still makes me sad. i don't understand in the first place why you would make an album as cool as this and then pivot to the peter, paul and mary school of indie folk but i guess we'll get a clearer picture of her new sound as more singles drop.

i honestly rlly like jack antonoff. the only artist he does not mesh well with at all is st. vincent

Time will tell if the new album lives up. I agree that Rostam did an amazing job here and that it will be hard to beat.

Also, just one last time: Sofia >>> Bags

yesss, so good. And a perfect example of what disappoints me so much about Blouse. The synths and drumming in that song are so much more interesting than acoustic strumming and a vanilla string arrangement

i miss the old clairo, straight from the go clairo

everyone's gonna pretend she proved herself as a songwriter on sling, when that already happened on this album. it's pretty great but I expect to return to this more

new album sounds like if Antonoff was involved on Phoebe's Punisher

i was wishing for at least some stronger pop sensibilities/synths but that's fine. songs containing instrumentally busier sections are my faves. most of this really was gorgeous, i'll process it better tomorrow. the highlights here are huge and there's def a good handful of them.
