Basically, half the set was them lighting candles to the point that a couple of groups of people in front of me starting singing "HOOOW OOOLD AAARE YOOOOU NOOOOW?" (which was hilarious) and the rest of the set was really shitty "OOOOOMMMmmmmMMM" which is pretty ridiculous considering I listened to half the album on the drive up and don't remember many of those.



It was just a boring set with nothing standing out at all. Bartushka also has literally 0 stage presence. Just stood behind a mantle of candles as if he was scared of getting bottled. Also, to clarify, I didn't pay money to go see them, I paid to go to Bloodstock 2019 and Dimmu cancelled at the last second so they brought Fatushka in instead.

from what I've seen of their live shows before the drama, it was pretty much the same thing tho. Clearly part of the religious aesthetic.

Just watched them performing this album live on YouTube. I can see why people who are used to traditional metal shows would have a problem with this -- you're right, they do just stand there. But there's something visually compelling about it anyway -- the way the band is in shadows so you can't see their gfaces, the candles, the costumes, etc. And the album is excellent. I wish they were touring just a little closer to me -- I'd go see them.
