I try to get through bands' discogs prior to their current release if they have a sufficient amount of previous material. That doesn't always happen because of time constraints, so more often than not I think I'm a backtracker too.

Their lyrics are actually very good. The Sput audience at large I think tends to not be Spanish or understand it, so English lyrics will be favored. I'll admit that by not mentioning the lyrics in the review myself I committed the same sort of bias, but it's difficult to avoid; we gravitate towards our native tongues.
Plus, I was relying off of high-school Spanish skills and the notoriously-inaccurate Google Translate, so there's also that lol

I’m definitely sensing something good here, a few of the tracks stood out on first glance. I kind of see the ATD-I thing in some of the guitars. Will certainly be revisiting.
The opener, Las Gorras and Senor Mora were all great.

Breaking the Fourth Wall is probably still a top 50 album of all time for me. Quite nearly a classic, and definitely a classic for the genre.
The last two tracks on this are some sure-fire highlights for me.

Agree, those 2 tracks are awesome final highlights. They go even further post and that makes perfect sense for a finale.

Yeah the closer was nice too, great one-two punch. I need to chew on this for a good while, plenty of content to sink your teeth into.

Yeah, a lot to digest here. I've given it a few spins now but I still feel like I've barely scratched the surface.

Maybe I'm deaf but I hear no Glassjaw in this.
Also, Breaking the Fourth Wall rules amazingly hard, yes.

Usually before reviewing an album I will listen a minimum of 3 times to really nail my understanding of it. I think the most time I ever spent trying to figure out a record was Wait For Love from last year. Played that ad nausea for quite a few days until my opinion was firmly cemented.

I’m impressed you can write such informative reviews after ‘only’ 3 spins to be honest; I realise you said that was the ‘minimum’ amount. I sometimes listen to something 5-6 times before rating an album, I imagine reviews would require at least a similar level of exposure for me personally. Every release is different though, I understand some don’t take as long to decipher and it must also vary wildly from person to person.
