Awesome album and I'm still finding details. Who the hell thinks this was too much? This is just very proggy imo

Singularity might not have the concept of Octavarium, but is has more soul imo. (and 100x better vocals)
Fight me.

Decent. Close to a 2.5 at this point. I was expecting 'Singularity' to be massive and epic but damn, what a tremendous letdown overall. Not engaging enough for me personally. Half of this is a snoozefest, the other is pretty good.

So painfully boring and cheesy.

Cheesy: Absolutely
Boring: Have we been listening to the same record? This might be the most dynamic and 'all over the place' record I've ever heard. There is like a million different ideas in here. You can dislike most of them sure, but in no way can I get behind it being boring.

I felt the same way about Devin's music once I got into it, and especially the early material when SYL was still going strong. The latter has aged extremely well I think, but most of Devin's solo material sounds like dad rock/metal to my ears. The only exceptions for me are Ghost and that Casualties of Cool record, as the atmosphere on both avoid the overblown Townsendisms that I have grown to really dislike over the years. His sense of humour is also grating for me, and is extremely hard to stomach.

Unfortunately even though I think some riffs on this album are amazingly fun (Borderlands main riff is my fav), this album is just too bloated and filled to the brim to really enjoy any singular thing, if this was shortened to down a bit it would have been a lot better I feel like

Why are people so obsessed with the word "dad"? They slap it on everything they dislike.
