Yhorm is a gimmick not because he has a unique mechanic for the fight but because that unique mechanic was stolen directly from Demon's Souls to be nothing but a gimmick fan service fight with no substance.

I did try to kill Yhorm without the sword. Fun times. And long.

BTW, when you beat the final boss (and.. gl with that lol) make sure find your way back to the first boss you fought in the game (dude on the horse, can't remember his name) for the secret boss. A lot of people miss it so I thought I'd mention it just in case

I've already found that secret boss. I was gonna do him first bc I didnt know I could do it after the final boss. Rn i'm going around finding all the newly placed items and finding the new minibosses. I really hate this gank miniboss though. It's complete bullshit.

Anyway I disagree with the term gimmick but it's not a big deal I just get way too personally invested in arguing other Soulskiroborne fans for liking the games incorrectly lol

Ah, yeah. Use that shit that lowers your presence, sneak up to the standard enemy and perform a deathblow and kill him, which will trigger the mini boss, then run away until the mini boss isn't on alert, sneak behind, deathblow, then duel it out with him. That's the last roadblock before the end of the game and it's pretty garbage. It can be done, it's just hard to approach stealthily

Micolash is ridiculously awful btw. I don't mind the cat and mouse chase, but his 1-shot missile attack is absolute dogshit. I always cheese him into oblivion with beast roar

Oh I didn't even realise the stealth boost would help there. I will give that a go when I get off work tonight. I almost never need to use the stealth boosting items so I forgot they existed.

Micolash's one-shot does suck but all one-shots suck. Other than that it's one of my favourite fights.

Yeah the stealth items are actually so good, especially for a farming route I do on fountainhead palace (something to note if you're ever gonna farm: kill all enemies and don't collect their loot, wait until you're done and pop the golden balloon which will double the value of all coin they've dropped. Got like 10000 in 5 minutes at fountainhead).



What did you think of the secret boss? I'd say it's the closest I felt to Dark Souls playing the game (that and the shaman mini boss). Everyone is talking about how insanely difficult it is but I did it on my 6th try

I only tried it once and lost pretty quickly BUT my first few "attempts" are usually me just sitting back seeing what their moves are. I will report back later tonight or later this week on whether I can do the boss or not. To me Genichiro has still been the hardest boss.

Honestly, the final boss is 50 times harder than Genichiro. Nothing else in the game can really prepare you for it. I actually found Owl to be harder than Genichiro though.

I thought Owl was tough but easier to learn.

I'm not gonna go to the last boss right away tho, there are still some things I'm figuring out. There's an area in Fountainhead I haven't figured out how to get to, and I imagine I need to use this special bait on the giant carp but I just don't where or how. I know the snake hearts are relevant somewhere but that mught be an endgame thing?

So the two pot nobles (one in Fountainhead and one at Hirata estates), if you buy enough from them, they'll each give you a "truly special bait". Whichever one you use, that pot merchant will disappear and transform into a giant carp, the other merchant will inherit all their items you didn't purchase, and you get an item. Also, make sure you go back to the Guardian Ape idol to get a special reward. I honestly don't know why this shit happens, I haven't dug too deep into the lore yet.

I didn't even find a pot merchant in fpuntainhead. Gotta go back there and thoroughly look around. I also need to do something with these mask fragments
