best three vocalist band of all time although 99% of this album is just two vocalists but they both sure are working hard here

The Receiving End of Sirens would like a word with you (actually three words all sung simultaneously)

This actually didn't do much for me on first listen, but I am willing to give it a few more tries.

Shame was a highlight, if I remember the song titles right.

The singing and lyrics are the best part for me. I appreciate how they can deliver such a positive message without sounding too preachy

"besides the lyrics being too evangelical for my taste this is an incredible album"

funny b/c a lot of evangelicals are pissed at this not being very evangelical, Emery's always been pretty comfortable in the "Christian with a lot of doubts" space. But it's interesting how many people see these lyrics as positive, when I see a lot of struggling (Fear Yourself/Jesus Wept, Everything That She Offered Me), disappointment (Sins of Every Father) and downright fear (Name Your God). But yeah Ecnalzen this is a grower so give it a few more tries

^don't disagree. there's plenty of darkness here (dealing with addictions, regrets, insecurities etc.) but to me it's about accepting that we're all broken, and moving forward to a better place.

this line gives me chills every time:

married a beautiful girl, brought a child into this world/in the mirror I saw a boy wanting to be a man

I still feel like I'm adventuring through this album trying to learn it even though I'm obsessed with it.
