I am not trying to bring it down...i just think they have more potential as selfproducers than what this resulted in. It's their first album tho so I'm sure their next album will be better.

No idea why but this clicked with me huge today, will have to bump my rating soon accordingly

IV is one of a handful of times I was completely and utterly floored by music...by the time always and never finished I had a new favorite band and I was straight rabid. Over time coca music stopped exciting me and its sad...like a divorce and I'm being honest. The band's new output just reminds me of how amazing it used to be to be a fan

Ah okay, I get you a lot then - was thinking about this earlier, weirdly. This album is good enough to bring back memories of Coheed at their best but not good enough to fill those boots :/ Oh well, there'll never be a bad time to jam their early stuff

It's pretty evident when they play new stuff vs. old stuff live. the only song that gets the crowd moving is "The Dark Sentencer". "Old Flames" and even "The Gutter" had no response to them. Don't get me wrong, the album is good, but you can tell what the crowd is there to hear.

same thing goes for... like any band that's been around as long as they have lol. it's not even about the quality it's just about the amount of nostalgia tied to their early records for most concertgoers
Coheed's first three albums are still their best ofc, but the dropoff isn't as steep as most people say. The Gutter for example is absolutely on par with the best songs they've ever done

I mean, I've seen other bands who their new songs got the crowd going crazy. Maybe CoTF are just more nostalgic.

guess we'll have to wait for your rival to log in and comment so we can decide who is truly worthy of such an enviable title
