Nickelback play rock music, a well established genre for everyone. Them as a band though keep a certain core target audience because it makes the most sense for them commercially. That said, their target audience isn't even teens, it's literally just anybody who likes simple, catchy tunes. Dumb argument.

I don't think the genre has evolved but I think hopesfall has. Post Hardcore died a couple years ago and Funeral For A Friend, Thrice, United Nations were a last hoorah. But now Thrice and hopesfall are both back.

The point was: opinions change. Things age. Things lose their appeal. Things you once loved appear juvenile in older age. I don't need to reference a comparative genre to make that point. I never said all post hardcore was bad, so I'm not saying all rock music is bad either. I do think post-hardcore is worse than a lot of genres though. Not a dumb argument, you're just arguing semantics and overlooking the central point.
