Not sure if you literally mean the little songs or it's just a figure of speech, but the longest tracks are god tier while the rest range from average to pretty good. I get what you mean about the vocals too, although I've come around to them.

i agree, tho, the longer tracks are the better ones. first 3-4 tracks are amazing, but after that it gets pretty bland, especially from 7 to 10 those are all boring af.

Donnie Darko is in my SOTY running right now. There's just something magical and yet depressing about it. I think it's the upbeat electronic/dance vibe atop those lyrics about growing up with regular beatings. Just such a weird juxtaposition that shouldn't work but does.

I'm still enjoying this album - especially "Cool & Collected". Gotta say tho, that lyric in "Donnie Darko" "Just reminds me of Auld Lang Syne" is one of the most annoying things I've heard all year. Her enunciation there is worse than nails on a chalkboard
