its one of my faves tbh, with the hilarious/epic choppy vocals

Yeah, "Disappointed" is an early highlight for me. Others include "Online," "Black Paint," "Shitshow," and "Dilemma"

I love 'hahaha' too, pulls me so sharply in 2 different sonic / emotional directions. If i could peg a general 'theme' to the record it'd probably be that -- forcing upon the listener several tones and musical palettes / styles simultaneously to confuse and disorientate. Feels kinda psychy to me, consequently. I guess you could just label it as directionless and hollow experimentation for the sake of it, which is fair, but idk, it feels like they do something cool on here. The fact it gets me talking can only be a good thing.

@Doof Pretty nice tape right there... though kinda surprised you have Birds and Whatever I Want on there, didn't think you'd like those ones

personally I just wished they did Black Paint x Dilemma over and over again here because those genre fusions were definitely the most engaging / interesting to me. however, this was also my first DG album in full

This was your first DG, cone? If this wasn't quite your tempo, I always rec BP or TMS as entry points, they feel like vanilla grips to me, though that's entirely arbitrary cause they never settle on 1 sound for long

is there any album where they don't have crazy-ass drums / beats where the rhythms dont nearly make any sense? ive hear ex-military would be a good starting point if I dug their punk-aesthetic...

ah man but that's the fun of the record haha. I'd say things make the most sense of bp or tms; I find they're relatively accessible and catchy records, just with some quirky instrumental choices. exmilitary is kinda nutty and all over the place like this, though yeah more punk and industrial.

'Birds' is a strange track, one of their more abstract/shapeless you could say, but I think it works really well. 'Whatever I Want' isn't their best album closer but it's still a goodie.

I like it a lot but it’s like top twenty for me. I don’t really get why so many people think that’s the one.
