First two Obscura: yay (absolutely awesome tech death)!

Last two: meh.



I don't get all the fuss about Diluvium. It's a very bland clean tech death album with boring structures (sorry, to be prog you need complex structures that take your listeners by surprise instead of writing easy verse/chorus structures).



Alkaloid is way better than current Obscura... Partly because Münzner and Grossman are vastly superior to Trujillo and the current Obscura drummer, both as musicians and composers.



Yeah sure, second track is very inspired by MA... But since MA has been shit for a while now, it's okay to get a great quality rip off from time to time to keep the flame alive.



I wouldn't say Obscura is bad... but they basically get dominated by every other tech death band this year. They are dumbing down their music more and more.

Obscura rules but I dug this tbh.

It sucks if you don't like prog rock. If you're a fan of both DM and prog rock, you'll get it and it's pure gold.

One of the best albums of the year in my book. This stuff will take you on a different ride every time. This has to be the biggest example I have seen of an album that is well received but the majority of the comments don't like it.

Bump! Glad I revisited this, seems I'm more open to what they're doing here. Very unique sounding, and I think thats the band's greatest strength. Cool vocals (and lyrics on physics and science shit, which i dig), hope they expand on this in the future.

I need to check their debut and give this one more time.

What is with these ratings? Pretty great so far btw.
