production holds it back quite a bit

it's a 4 with 2 production

and it's not like guided by voices where the production adds to the album, this probably sounded well-produced to them for some reason

Anyone know if they're selling more books on their upcoming tour? I would love to get one.

Sounds much better on my speakers than it did on the Indy stream

man the end of The Ocean Grew Hands would be properly powerful if it didn't sound like it was recorded in a foil tube

It's so bad it's actually woprth moaning about because it waters down the emotional impact of every single song bar like 2

I have discovered if you just listen to this really quietly it doesn't sound as bad like a 64kbps limewire rip and the weird tearing in the drums isn't as obvious

butt.

I think the vocals get drowned out at times, but other than that I have no gripes with the production

are you guys listening to the stream or a bad leak? I really don't hear this bad production, sounds very much like all of their records and while it's not everyones cup of tea I think it's always given them some extra charm.

yea when i first heard this through a decent setup i picked up that the drums are panned weirdly and the guitars sound reeeally off most of the time, as if they were ripped off youtube or something

The guitars sound ultra spikey like needles and the drums sound compressed to the point of tearing when the songs get really busy. In fact when things get busier it sounds like things are clipping - like a bad leak.

But i'm listening to the spotify version with ATH-m50s and the bandcamp version through my decent hifi set-up so it can't be a problem with the files

Probably the first track - it's easily worst hit by the bad production. Pyramids of Salt gets away with better than every other song here for the most part
