Man, I had a little bit of hope for this album. It seemed like they were going for an almost Polar Similar aesthetic. Nope, turns out it's just a radio rock aesthetic. Maybe a good radio rock aesthetic, but one nonetheless.

almost couldnt finish this. so fucking boring. i think bringing in that pop producer was a bad move. you can hear glimmers of what could have been an interesting direction to take that are cut short in favour of a generic one.

The album meanders and seems like the band wasn't sure what they wanted it to sound like. With the exception of the opening track, Ihateyou, and Hold Your Breath... this is as boring and generic Underoath could have gotten. What a letdown.
