honestly early burzum is some of the only black metal that sounds good to me now that 11th grade is long over. i pretty much cant stand symphonic shit or nature hymns so i take my ball and go home after 1994 unless its one of the handful of early famous bands that wrote riffs

like every once in a while i am in the mood for like, agalloch or something. i jam some of the early symphonic stuff, sometimes even early dimmu if im wasted. but i really just like the early group of retards who worshipped being trve and shit. immortal, mayhem, burzum, darkthrone, very early emperor, then some bm adjacent stuff that crosses over with death metal which i dont really put in the same group. i cant explain why i no longer have the urge to dig into a genre i once was obsessed with

like i enjoy paysage, darkspace, that type of sound if im in the mood for it, and when the time is right it rocks. but im usually into thrash, death, traditional heavy metal, and 80s prog/power stuff nowadays. also like to find old school epic doom (before bongs) but there isnt as much of that
