hah I'm so right it isnt even funny. what's up with the recent trend of like indie folk bands trying to be Brand New but instead of jammin out they throw in a ton of ~pretty~ atmospheric, acoustic parts to keep the TENSION building throughout the record? like I feel like it's so over done at this point
that being said I do enjoy this so far but holy fuck is it long. 3 songs in, already at an 8 min track and got 11 more to go? gdi why do all albums like this also have to be crazy long

I prefer White Lighter since it's more immediate but this still rules. Especially the lyrics

yeah 12 min closer is actually longer than I predicted LMAO
like this album is so damn predictable but that's just cuz it's like every other ~dark~ indie folk album. maybe not conceptually / lyrically but in form, sound n execution definitely.
Ariadne was def one of my fav tracks tho

yeah this is so predictable i didn't bother finishing before rating

I listened to this a week or 2 back and I liked it but I wish it was a bit more Rorschach. Empiricist was really something great too on second listen. But then I finally gave White Lighter a full listen and wow that's such a more engaging/immediate album.

I'm watching their Audiotree now and these guys look like they could be a TV series. They start as a bunch of band kids (minus Kyle) that are playing music together for fun and then they find a cool looking lead singer/guitar player who loves music but doesn't want to be associated with them. they hear his beautiful voice and beg him to join and he first declines but then obviously it all works out and they become Typhoon (USA-OR).
and yes i decided to share this with all of you.

Thank you Grey.

why you would try and join in on the discussion of an album you didnt even finish is beyond me lol
brand new comparison pretty baffling, this is basically just folk with post influences, where the hell does brand new come in lol
yo con, rec me some dark yet pretty folk/indie with dynamic post rock crescendos like this (not to mention wonderful lyrics/concept), since you have heard it all before/its so predictable
not a groundbreaking blend of sound at all, but i find typhoon have a unique 'sonic footprint'
