I want to bump this to a five but I just can't. It doesn't feel like a five, at least not yet anyhow.

Album has wormed its way into probably my favorite female-fronted release of all time. Until this past year or two I never found myself digging female vocalists much but a few bands recently have shown me really good and fresh material that helped my perspective a bit. TOTL has definitely become one of those albums; great lyricism and a pretty but not overdone soundscape. Her first by all rights should be my preferred but I still have to give it to this release.

Nice write-up as well, pos'd.

I can get that. There's songs I'm not as into for sure, and she sounds like she could lean country at any given moment without too much pushing. Not that it's necessarily a bad thing, but country is definitely not my soundscape.

really? I feel like out of almost all the religious but not christian-rock artists she does it in a much more subtle way. idk maybe its just cuz I relate hard

I think there's definitely some unwitting influence by praise and worship music, however.

I barely even think about religion in terms of her music tbh, but that might be because of my Catholic upbringing I'm just used to feeling and hearing those notions

the only line that jumps out at me as being too blatant is the "singing too loud in church" one tbh

Tru, like religion is a theme but religion is like a theme in like 70% of music
