to clarify, i don't think people shouldn't connect with this or other music i think is bad. Just don't use that emotional response as a shield from criticism.

I agree, but my point is sometimes you just make that connection and it's hard to explain how it came about. this makes it hard for someone to defend the music, even if they know it's not great, so people will revert to simply saying it's "real"

Wait did X rip off the Jocelyn Flores beat? I kind of remember reading someone online saying it was ripped off their own Soundcloud beat but I can't remember exactly. I assume that's what you're saying because hating on a beat for sampling another song as it's hook/appeal is like hip hop 101 obviously.
As far as me bringing up legends like 2Pac and their crimes, you've never heard about any specific crimes? Really? Pac spent nine months in prison at the height of his fame and talent for rape. Not to mention the time he shot a cop, or the time a six year old boy got shot in the face and died from a stray bullet from one of his registered guns, or the multiple assault cases. But none of that shit prevents Me Against the World from being one of the finest examples of hip hop the genre has ever seen.

"After I wished terrible things to XXXTENTACION, especially after his death, I've suddenly gained the ability to thank the bus driver, feed the children in Africa, donate my organs to charity even before dying, found a cure to Alzheimer, revive Jesus (my Mexican neighbor's dad), and apologize after saying something stupid/unnecessary online."
don't forget cured cancer

"Not to mention the time he shot a cop"
Two off duty white police officers in the south were beating up a black kid. 2Pac saw and decided to pull up and get out and approach them. The men pulled a gun and Pac and so he pulled his out and one of the men broke Pac's car window and they ran. Pac then shot at them while they were running. The cops shot at Pac's car afterward and went on to lie about what had happened to detectives.

This happened at a park in an old neighborhood Pac had spent a lot of time in. He was visiting because he had released his second album and started in the film Juice. This made him a sort of local star so a lot of people were excited to see him and meet him. Everything was fine until some people pulled up to the park and approached Pac. Pac tried to diffuse the situation peacefully but they weren't having it. One of the men that approached Pac got in his face and was trying to do something so Pac knocked him out in one punch. Right after that, gunshots went off. Pac and the Outlawz went running across the park to try and get away, not shooting back. At this point everyone in the park was chasing Pac and his crew with bullets wizzing by as they ran. No one knows who really shot the kid but it wasn't Pac. Pac actually knew the family of the child and was distraught and crying when he learned of what happened.

That's up to what you want to believe tbh, at least for the big rape one which was denied by Pac adamantly when asked about it and said he would never have done something like that to a woman especially because of how he was raised by mostly women. The girl also had, a few days prior to this, performed oral sex on Pac

Ok, I won't argue on that specific topic anymore. Pac definitely wasn't perfect.
Still those other points that xfearbefore made that I addressed were incorrect or at least didn't include important details

@Drifter I'm aware of the circumstances of the events, I'm a big Tupac fan, and I firmly believe he wasn't a bad guy. When you read about all those events, there's a lot of extenuating circumstanes (his rape conviction is bogus IMO, girl he fucked winds up having group sex the next day with his homies and suddenly the first interaction was rape, I don't buy it). I was just bringing up Tupac as an example of someone with heinous shit on their legal record just like XXX had but who isn't despised for it.
It's music man. You don't have to like the musician to like the music. That was my only point. This guy was talented and whatever shit he did or didn't do in his life doesn't change that or my enjoyment of his music.
