The night Win Butler and the gang won a Grammy he replaced his brain with one of the gold plated statues and began fucking Her.

This album is definitely not bad. I personally liked it.

Quite enjoying this, but it's definitely the weakest album by Arcade Fire.

Oh it's definitely bad. I'm still not sure how I feel about it, though - I might like it anyway. But shallow enjoyment aside, I'm just angry - angry that a band of this caliber continues to fail to live up to its potential. Nevermind that I think Funeral is a classic and have Reflektor at a 4.7; they have the talent and songwriting ability to consistently craft something better than Funeral. That should have just been the beginning of even better things, but instead they continue to take gradual steps down. Neon Bible was a downgrade vs. Funeral but was still very good, and I can understand why some people perceive it to be their best. I'll never understand the appeal of The Suburbs - it had few standouts and just felt like Arcade Fire playing it safe. Reflektor was a risk that, in my opinion, paid off big time (although I can still objectively admit that it's very divisive). This isn't even divisive in a good way though, it's just such an obvious plummet. It feels like they scraped the worst elements of Reflektor's approach and made a surface level pop record out of it. I've now listened 3 times and the only tracks I remember are Everything Now, Creature Comfort, and Electric Blue (all of which I really love, thus making this hard to rate). The rest doesn't seem like growing material. I have no desire to revisit them, just to roll the 3 tracks I remember into my favorite Reflektor tracks and pretend they were released as one.
I dunno. I'll probably give this a 4.5 in a week.

Firstly and mostly, write it right. The rest will follow.

This band is veeeery high up their asses, their social media antics were just obnoxious. And way too much of this album is basically shitty disco. I feared that Reflektor might take them in that direction, and sure enough... I mean hell, they can record whatever they wish, they don't owe me anything, but this is a gigantic letdown.

maybe this band just isn't that good guys

I hate that I woke up today and remembered this existed
It's weird that I remember like EVERY song and have only listened to it twice, but the case is... I don't want to remember them
