I disagree with this review, as I totally love this album. It’s my 2nd fav. Crue album after Shout at the Devil. Most of the songs are both heavy & catchy. The only crappy song IMO is Raise Your Hands to Rock. Home Sweet Home is a legitimately great power ballad unlike the lame attempts that they would make at creating one on their next 2 albums.

I'm old but not that old hahaha.

Sometimes i wish i had lived through those times, but the thing is, if i had, i would still be whining. And i'd wish i had lived in the 70's. And so forth. There's no end in that desire.

In the end, i think you must enjoy each era for what it is. Each era has its own merits.

Man, I was 10 when this came out, followed by the video's for Home Sweet Home and Smokin In The Boys Room.

I was sold.

Plus, Louder Than Hell is one of the Crue's best songs.

I totally understand you. I was a teen, exploring, rockin, and this band, was one of many that took me, hook me into heavy/rock music, at the time. I still like a lot of their songs, even some of the supposedly bad ones ;)

For sure.

Does it provide the same value to me that it once did, of course not, but still a damn near classic for my introduction to hard rock and heavy metal.

if I was throwing a number down for when this came out it would be a 4, but the farther I got away from it, it looked more and more like a filler album, kinda like Lies. some great tunes here, HSH is the mother of all hair metal anthems but a 3 after clarity

Louder than hell [2]

Tonight was my favorite when I was a kid. Thought that riff was mean AF.

Motley honestly has some all-time great riffs but because GLAM we don't give them the credit.

Livewire is basically universally accepted as badass, but they have so much more to offer.

I prefer this to Girls... while TOP is formulaic, it still sounds like classic Crue to me. On Girls... they make an obvious attempt to sound more commercial. TOP feels more like an extension of Shout at the Devil. I can still go back and listen to their first 3. Girls... I can’t even get through.

This album's saving grace is that it's not quite their worst record
