"He is just the worst. I'm enjoying Farage trying to sue Led By Donkeys for owning thebrexitparty.com domain, by citing EU law."
Lmao had missed this, sounds even dumber than when he started citing the Benn Act as a basis to slag off Juncker

Anti-Zionism is not anti-Semitism
Wish the muppet public would register that

Normally not-the-Tory-core hacks me off but this time round it's the only line I haven't questioned

Well similarly anti-Islamic terrorism shouldn’t venture into anti-Muslim but you got to be oh so careful
Corbyn has a lot of people in his party to keep on side and he didn’t come out and say the right shit right away and that’s enough for some unpleasantness to stick
|

"Well similarly anti-Islamic terrorism shouldn’t venture into anti-Muslim but you got to be oh so careful"
not really, it's pretty easy to just talk about terrorists and not generalize Muslims just like u can easily talk about Israel specifically without generalizing Jews. if u have to be careful in either scenario, the problem is you

Well, Labour have that problem so it’s them I guess - they weren’t oh so careful

cant remember it off the top of my head but wasn't there a statistic that found as a percentage of party members the conservatives had more 'anti-semitic' incidents than labour anyway? labour just has a massive amount of members.

You’ve just got to say the right thing and quick, they fucked it up a bit.
I have no doubt there’s way more shit that could stick with the Tories

i mean the state of the tabloid press in the uk is a disgrace. so easy to manipulate public perception when 95% of news is filtered through publications with millionaire tory donors. there really needs to be a proper press standards regulatory authority not shitty ipso. the very least reform we need is that corrections on stories need to be as big as the original story itself. the tories know this would fuck them over so thats why we never got leveson 2
|
| |
it's actually shocking how mainstream publications in the UK are literally nothing more than clickbait tabloids
the US gets a lot of shit for disinformation and stupidity, but UK media is some shit straight outta Idiocracy. I'm actually shocked every time I find myself on The Mirror or the Mail or God forbid the Sun
|
| |
The fact The Sun is even allowed to operate is bewildering.
Private Eye is the only trustworthy news source in the UK tbh.

In terms of some tax revenue increases:
I like the Lib Dems proposed policy of taxing second homes big time (might be some individual cases where the second home might be exempt, but can't really think why anyone absolutely needs a second home, usually a luxury or for work so should be a factor in deciding on employment) and I believe empty property purchased as speculative investments in London esp should be deterred, again through more tax or similar
Most extreme I think population should be reduced a little globally, and UK should join in, so if you want to get real on that then families with children get one set payment - for as long as they have children at home but a flat rate (basically payment for one child only). Possible exceptions if your first children are twins/triplets - if you're thinking you're struggling for cash despite the first child handout then don't have a second kid.
