After multiple dozens of listens, favorites are definitely Pink Eyes and Snow Cats. Even the less immediately appealing songs grow on you. Any can be a favorite depending on mood. The variety is great pulling from every era of AFI

After reading the review and all of these comments I thought I would really dislike this album.

Black Sails through StS are some of my favorite albums of all time. I really disliked DU and CL and thought Burials was a step up from those two...but just never really got into it the way I did with earlier AFI.

This album has zero flow whatsoever and I feel like that really hurts it, but there are some good jams all over the place here. In isolation I think there are some really stand-out tracks, but it just ends up feeling like a compilation album of B-sides from the past 15 years (mind you, some very solid sounding B-sides). I can see why people don't like this, and it really doesn't stack up to old AFI...but I'm shocked that anyone even expected it to. A lot of the tracks here are the best that AFI has put out in 10 years, it's just a shame that it doesn't really come together as a complete package. Kind of surprised that the average isn't a little bit higher on this just because of the bangers that are present here.

Yeah, that's a good one. I'm loving that guitar solo in Dark Snow. Reminds me of 90's grunge for some reason.

No ambition to really ever revisit this tbh. AFI have gotten stale for me.

Can you explain why? That chorus has such a weak vocal melody.

Heh, I don't really know why, I'm terrible at explaining things, probably why I've never reviewed anything

I actually really like this, I just wished Burials had the production this record has, would make me appreciate it much more!

Pink Eyes is easily my favorite on this. Hidden Knives almost sounds like those STS b-sides, especially in the verses. Above The Bridge is my least favorite, really really weak melodies and song development imo
