Yeah... the album cover is pretty bad. The music easily makes up for it, of course.

No you don't. He's overly emotional and cheesy and can't express his emotions properly, according to the experts on here.

"Raven I respect your taste in music but imo the new album isn't comparable by any means with TPE, RL and Be."

I disagree.

For me, great albums have great moments. The part in On a Tuesday, "To chase away the shadows that prey... Cast by the passing light of day". The whole of Pluvius Aestivus. The lead in from Falling to the TPE title track. Undertow's build. Beyond the Pale's build. The reprise to close out Road Salt 2. Sisters.

All fantastic moments. I get the same feeling when I hear the new record. Moments like these all throughout. Hard to explain, I wish everyone could have the same experience here but it's the same for every album ever.

Musically the new album feels restrained and lacks creativity. Even Daniel's vocals don't reach the heights they used to. The production is kind of stale and the bass isn't audible.PoS trimmed all the fat from their music and lost their grandiose progressive metal identity which made them so special.

p.s Album is solid nevertheless.

Initially I thought so too, but melodies from the album emerge in my mind on random occasions.

In my book, this means the album is a 3.5+ at least.

If you ever write a song like this and you are embarassed, give it to me, I'll be glad to expose myself with it.

''Reasons'' is solid, but not among my favorites. ''Tongue of God'' and ''Angels of Broken Things'' are probably the weakest tracks for me.

Silent Gold is the only track I can say to like in the first half. Not as catastrophic as it looked at first but I basically don't like anything about the playing damn. They loved the last Leprous album that's for sure

It shares some of the "weird machinery-like alt metal" thing, check the song Reasons
