the production doesnt help and billie sounds tired a lot of the time, not helped by terrible vocal filters and effects

jerry finns death really did a number on the production of every single band he worked with ever since

Bang Bang and the stretch of Youngblood, Too Dumb to Die, and Troubles Times is decent. Everything else is just forgettable is hell and the closer sucks

This album can be such a dumb venture but stuff it if I don't rock out to some of these cuts. It's only my overly critical and elitist self that won't bump it to a 4. "Forever Now" is top ten GD.

All I remember about this album was that the opening song was pretty good

3.3 is a perfect score. This is a good, solid GD album, but is totally ancillary if you were already familiar with them.

It's my son's favorite album which is hilarious because it came out when he was the same age I was when Dookie came out.

see in comparison to the trilogy which contains some of the most shockingly awful songs i've heard ever the bad songs on here are just aggressively aggressively boring

say goodbye/outlaws is a dreeeeadful pairing not because either song is outright awful but they neVER fucking go anywhere

Say Goodbye and Outlaws are the weak links, agreed.

yea like

i used to think the run from bouncing off the wall to youngblood were the weak links because of the excessive poppiness of still breathing and the other two's beyond fucking stupid lyrics

then i realized it's green day who haven't written a lyrically competent song in quite a long time and just embraced the fact that the songs with decent pop sensibilities and actual life to them are better than the ploddy mid tempo slogs before them
