Wow, I don't have either of them rated. How did that happen?

For Emma is a 5, I own it on vinyl. Forget how I feel about Bon Iver, Bon Iver, but I remember liking it a bunch.

I have never heard of these guys in my entire life. What do they sound like? Will I like this being a metal head? Is this on bandcamp? Recommend THE song on this album to check out.

"this is a good casual listen and it's clearly pushing r&b in a new direction, but it's not well-realized enough to make a case for glitch r&b being a worthwhile direction for artists to pursue"

yea not rnb

"mmmmm yeah it is at this point, bon iver's collaborations with other artists like james blake and francis in the lights have pulled him farther and farther towards electronica and now he's released a record that provides slow, rhythmic synth-laden backdrops to emotional vocal crooning. it may be 'experimental r&b,' but it certainly boasts enough similarities to acts like how to dress well and company to earn the tag"

not a bad argument. maybe by definition this is rhythmic and bluesy. i see what youre saying, I dont think its RNB tho, I definitely think it just of falls in the 'folktronica' category

there is definitely an RNB vibe, but as far as this being an rnb record, no

This may be synth-laden all it wants, but there are neither any blues melodies, nor entirely rhythm-based instrumentals on here, so not R&B. This is actually still folk music through and through, no matter how much he plays around with different sounds.
