Toon it's not currently my favourite either but the average might have the legs because I'm guessing less casual listeners/established haters will check this than have done for Radiohead and Bowie

The opinion that this isn't nearly as good as people are saying. That it's kind of boring and the emotion seems exaggerated and the vocals affected. That the instrumentals aren't really that good and they're just kind of there. The songwriting doesn't seem very interesting.

I'll agree the lyrics are good for the most part.

I may be assessing this too prematurely but this seems to be striking a chord with everyone right away.

Boney if you think Nick's vocals are affected on this then you'll no doubt feel the same about 90% of his stuff as that's just Cave's overtly dramatic and verbose style
