Dude you gotta relax. I've jammed the band since jr high but I just found this album really disappointing [2]

Also, you seem to be saying that people are making biased ratings, but how is that the case? People aren't trying to bury the album if they give it a 2.5, they just think its 'average'. I think it probably deserves a slightly higher average than 2.5 (as it has) but my rating is just my honest opinion, it's not an attempt to sabotage the band or whatever

I could understand someone 5ing hollow crown or ruin that shit slays, their other stuff isnt bad either. I couldnt understand anyone rating any of their albums at 1 though

"what separates me from you was fun but bad, common courtesy was fun and good, this is ok but not fun"
Homesick was fun, and not bad. What Separates me from You was bad, Common Courtesy was pretty bad as well except for a few goodies. This is just a continuation of meh

i mostly listened to these guys for like less than 4 months in highschool cause a girl I liked listened to them.
regrets all over the place. like admitting that for starters.
|
| |
what's even more lame is that you are embarrassed for listening to a band bro
|
| |
true, but god these guys are lame
recent re-listens made me realize just how simple their instrumentation is too.
which by principal isn't a bad thing at all, but they were almost trying too hard to hide that fact

i get so much nostalgia from these guys, but yeah i find their pop/chug-chug aesthetic a bit tasteless these days
|
| |
soulless is another word I find appropriate for these guys too

yeah i agree. its like they though 'shit, we're ADTR, we need to pump out another ADTR record because thats what we do now', rather than 'guys, we love making music, lets see what we can come up with.' Im sure they do love music and what they do, but their records feel pretty cookie cutter at this point

their first few were fun and catchy as fuck, nothing more then a 3-3.5 but not awful either. Besides I'd say that's all they ever aimed for

I actually think What Separates had some genuinely good songs which I can't say for any of their other albums but who cares that much anyway

In all honesty, this album is a stepping stone to something that could be great. Regardless, I've made my noise here - I'll head off to rate some more albums in the meantime.

This is a solid album. Nothing more, nothing less. Good record.
High points: Bad Vibrations, Justified, Same About You
Is it as good as Common Courtesy? No, but it's still a good record. It's better than What Separates Me From You.

t/t, exposed, bullfight, forgive and forget, justified and reassemble are all good, but turn off the radio sucks and rest is pretty meh.
