I'd be so pissed if after all this time they give us songs we've already had
|
| |
True but at this point I kind of want a refurbished version of good man and battalions.

I mean Battalions is just Archers? More or less?

Part of the chorus, but Battalions has much moodier verses with the bassline. Archers somehow become one of my all time favorite BN songs and I still think of Battalions as its own beast.

The chorus starts off with a similar melody but the track in its entirety is very different and could easily be reworked into its own song.

Is there a studio version of Sealed to Me yet? Also, do you guys expect Mene and/or I am a Nightmare to be on LP 5? (If it ever drops)

no, yes

IMO both will be on it. So will Sealed to Me, maybe even Out of Range. From what I can gather of their recent actions, they seem to be in a bit of a creative rut (also supported by the 7 year release drought) and I think they might even try to pass off old material as new. Others mentioned how Radiohead did that a little on AMSP, I think this will be a similar case which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Eh I would highly doubt either songs being on the next LP, both seem to have their own unique and drastically different art work, doesn't come across as something cohesive to be on the same LP.

The artwork is just for the single though, has nothing to do with cohesiveness
They actually have a fairly similar sound in my opinion and could easily be found on the same record. On my personal playlists I have those tracks listed 1-2 and they flow together perfectly.

They fit well with both being more streamlined pop punk songs, Mene's chorus/lyrics are closer in line with TDAG/Daisy era though

Most singles tho, artwork wise, usually have a similar theme or artwork style, usually in reference to the main album artwork and what not.

Sometimes I guess
I still remember the single artwork for 'At The Bottom' was a bird diving or something, has nothing to do with Daisy's artwork outside of the fact that both involve animals

Yeah but most singles aren't released a year apart without a definitive "LP in two months!" statement

How many songs are officially released years in advance and end up on an LP? I can't think of any, sure maybe unreleased tracks but not any tracks officially released on their own without any official word on LP.

Didn't that happen with Weezer's White Album? Could be wrong

Yeah but I Am a Nightmare was released a few months ago not years, and if they release an album in 2016 then it all adds up
Mene was last year so that's pushing it, but the fact the BN is digging up fossils like the FOYD demos makes me think they won't let any track go to waste
Could be wrong. Hope I'm wrong.

Oh I don't think they'll let any of their songs go to waste, I also don't see them releasing a record with two previously released songs on it, at least not without a new mix.

Eh we could debate this all day so I guess we'll just have to see. Wouldn't mind re-worked versions of Mene/Nightmare/Sealed...I'd LOVE to hear a re-working of Out of Range with slightly better production. That track is so underrated/under-known in general.
