Los Angele is actually one of the better songs lyrically but it's killed by the execution...the opposite of a few other tracks here

nah I dig the electronic influence, it's what a lot of Neighborhoods was trying to be but better and Skiba absolutely kills it on that one

he makes pretty much every song about 10x better when his vocals come in, not that I don't love Mark but the contrast is fantastic

hopefully next time he gets to write some parts that are distinctly Skiba rather than just singing Mark parts tho

Decent review well written thought it got a bit long winded and you started to tread water a bit but not bad. I do completely disagree though. I think it's a solid record and about what I expected from then. Is it there best album ? No but it is far better then neighborhoods and dog eat dog and i must say I'm enjoying it so far.

The Only Thing that Matters rips off Time to Waste in that one part so hard

i had to stop reading this review after he said Travis underperformed on this album. You are obviously a Tom fan and that's ok. I thought Neighborhoods was kind of a mess and skip the most songs on that album than any other. With that said this album is a grower. Obviously, Cynical is great, Bored Death is a single that fits in perfect with their greatest hits album, and other songs like Left Alone and San Diego are pretty excellent. A little experimental with LA which at first I didn't like, but it gets better with each listen. Is it overproduced? Ya a little bit but hell, so was EOTS and TOYPAJ when they were first came out for their time. Some songs like Sober and Teenage Rituals they could of did without but I can honestly see Sober being a radio hit to gain the current teens who missed out on Blink. This is a summer album and I think with Tom being absent, they didn't want to use too much Skiba and are slowly easing him in. I think this album is a mix of all their sounds over 20 years. One thing that bugs me is they should of made Brohemina Rhapsody a full song. Riff is sick. Also, they sound a 1000 times better live then 2005 and on with Tom. Let their next album/Ep make the call on what direction they will truly go once they let the leash off Skiba.

I can see why you'd think this, but for me, Skiba's parts are some of the worst on here. The more i listen the more i hate it. This album is just like RHCP's new album. BRING THE OLD GUYS BACK

See i am opposite, I think some of his parts are the best on here. I am a big Alk3 fan though. I will admit his voice sounds a little different and tampered with than his usual stuff but I think he def brings a different element then Tom. This album sounds poppy and happy but its actually kind of dark lyrically. Lets all hope Tom shapes up and he rejoins the band in a few years and they become a 4piece

I'm listening now and this is such a struggle to sit through. like some lyrics ie sober are some of the worst things they've ever written and the mix is so fucked

Skateboards, autotune, juvenile behaviour, backing vox, twinkies tattoos and talking shit, trying desperately to be with relevant with fuck all to say, tell or show.

Post 2000 in a nutshell. A turd.

I could understand if a teen going through their first breakup would like this. But as a longtime fan, you might as well just kick me in the nuts and take my wallet instead of make me listen to this again.
