I'm very interested in the direction they're going with the upcoming album. the cinematic album art, the involvement of David Castillo (best known for his work with Katatonia), and the greater use of atmospheric elements and clean vocals all point to it being pretty different.

yeah tbh I felt Brimstone was the worst of the three singles thus far, might actually end up digging The Valley a fair bit.

You had to revive this thread just for that? You got me hyped for another new track. Now I’m sitting here all hyped for nothing

And this album sucks. I hope Phil’s rediscovered lyrical abilities carry over onto this new LP

You know, with hindsight its more obvious that the band was tired of what they were and were trying to move in a different direction rather than a half hearted attempt at commercial viability. It still doesn't excuse just how boring and frankly, misguided this one is.

Moreso proof that sometimes you need to hit rock bottom before you can really improve. At least it isn't a Suicide Silence level disaster.

This album just feels really empty. There's just no real punch behind it, like they're on autopilot. Our Endless War at least had Let Me Burn and The Saw is the Law.

Considering what came after, it was worth it.
