their lyrics were always 90% shit lol y'all blinded by when the music was actually fun

Love the lyrics on the first two records but this is mostly preachy bullshit and inane cliches. Can't tell if that's more offensive than the gutless songwriting or not... Did you count the record before FH?

I typically agree with sputnik's average rating for most stuff, but I just can't see why this is so low. I personally think this is great. Maybe slightly above The Blackest Beautiful for me. However, Fake History does seem unobtainable for these guys after these two albums.

Jason was sick when I saw them the other night but it was still a great set. They mostly The Blackest Beautiful which was fine with me since I think it's a great album. More Fake History would have been nice but that's fine.

When I heard this album was primarily singing, I was hoping for something more similar to Lemon Party, but that unfortunately isn't the case.

Rofl Owen no those do not count.
Lyrics used to be cool, a little iffy at times but overall solid

Yeah this is a solid 3.5, almost a 4. Definitely a very different style than Blackest Beautiful and Fake History but I think it's great for what it is.
It's also incredibly amusing to see people complaining about the lyrics as preachy. If you're going to write lyrics about serious issues, be passionate about them. That's all I ask for. Doesn't have to be incredibly wise or insightful. I can get that from lectures. I go to music for the feelings and emotions on this kind of stuff

Fair, but I would argue that you can be passionate without being preachy. Like on the Dope Beat. A levelheaded look at the black community, how it has been wronged, and how it holds itself back. Then compare it to any song on here, it loses that levelheadedness and insight and becomes "COPS KILL BLACKS, EVERYBODY LISTENING?" and is just whiny

I just think the sound needs more energy.

God that would've been great, such a fun song and definitely one of my favourite letlive tracks even though it's like a bonus track/b-side.

This album has like, two, maybe three songs that could be considered fun.

"So many people cannot adapt to a band changing / getting older" - Eswin17 hit the nail on the head...
Having never listened to any of their earlier outings and having never followed anything they did, I just had my face melted by this amazingly groovy balls-to-the-wall rock songs. This will probably be in contention with Thrice for AOTY. Not even joking, obviously.
