Okay I admit it I made that account when I was 9 years old in preparation for this very conversation, happy?

I'm not sure where to put this for now, but I'm reckoning this is a grower just like Colored Sands. Considered Dead is a fun dm album but isn't aiming for something higher. This obviously does. Time will tell if it's actually anywhere near where it wants to be, but if it is, it's far ahead of anything Considered Dead ever wanted to be. At least that's how I see it.

Not sure I can agree with you on that criticism. Put it in the context of the time - hardly fair to say that it wasn't aiming for something higher than "a fun DM album" in 1991? Other, more progressive DM was starting to come along by then but I wouldn't guess that Luc's aim was just to play darker thrash at that point. He was building off what was around at the time.

Considered Dead was their debut back in a time when death metal was just straight filthy and didn't try to be anything more.
That's like saying Death's first 2 aren't classics

importance =/= quality
and yes, I'm saying that 90's Death albums are better than their first 2.
Also, Considered Dead came along the same year as Human, and Atheist was already a thing, etc. It took them only two more years to make a way more emotional album (EoS).

"smh"
there's always that guy when you discuss something on a dm thread.

How can 1 person contain so many wrong opinions

Speak for yourself lol

The fact that Human released days after Considered says little about latter and more speaks to the progressive nature of the former. Considered was, considering (heh) its pool of influences, certainly more than "a fun DM album" for the time it was released. You're more or less saying Guts were trying to do nothing but be derivative and that's not even close to true.
Also yeah it's like saying SBG or Leprosy are the worst Death albums and that's also not even close to true.

Also, I never said importance is equal to quality. That's a reductionist interpretation of what I said. See my comment earlier today in the Jane Doe thread that does exactly make the point that importance does not equal quality.

"The fact that Human released days after Considered says little about latter and more speaks to the progressive nature of the former."
good point.
"Also, I never said importance is equal to quality."
that was more of directed to Myst.
I probably should have mentioned that Considered Dead is still one of the better death metal albums I know and that I love Disincarnated, Waste of Mortality etc. it's not like I want to make it seem like I hated it.

"Science is for nerds and virgins"
I hope you're kidding lmao
"Importance =/= quality"
