This is like a safer straight-up follow-up to Merriweather. I like it, though it's not quite as good as MPP. Maybe better than Centipede. "FloriDada" is awesome though.

Saw them live last night and usually, when I see a band live it makes me like their new stuff more.. This time around, it made me like this album less. Their songwriting has really dropped off.

Not wrong ciregno. Must have been some bright spots in their set?

Atomic - MPP has so much more variety than this so they feel like totally different types of listen

They had Jeremy from Slasher Flicks on drums, and his playing made me wish they had some live drums on this album to go with the programmed drums. Record sounded better live. Album comes off as too programmed to me after the gig. Dropped it to a 3.

Best spots from their set was Alvin Roe, Bees, and Daily Routine. Basically all their older stuff. All the singles from this album sounded pretty good.

Agree with you on variety. A good chunk of this bleeds together while Merriweather was pretty much made up of tracks that could stand on their own. But the two albums share a common tone and sensibility whereas Centipede was on a different wavelength.

"Florifuckingdada can folorifuckoff."

Someone hates fun.

Saw them live the other night. I wasn't impressed by the couple of listens I managed to squeeze in over the weekend, and the performance made me like the album significantly less. I just can't find any songs enjoyable aside from FloriDada and Burglars. For what it's worth I love every album including Centipede Hz, so this is the first release where I've truly been disappointed *sigh*

The only two songs I'm really enjoying as much as the old stuff are 'Golden Gal' which is the most successful pop song they've yet recorded and 'Lying in the Grass' which sounds like all the new ideas on this album squeezed into one song

Album is going to drop out of my current listening after a week and about 30+ plays, never thought I'd be saying that about an Animal Collective album but them's the breaks
