This is so damn long and that's my first issue with it.

One thing I know for sure is that this album isn't as bad as many people say it is.

Worst Dream Theater album by far. The story is cheesy, the music is not interesting.
I saw them live at Paris where they played the whole album, I was almost crying of disappointment.

So why did you go to the show in the first place if you don't enjoy the album?

I wouldn't go to a DT show at this point of their career tbh.

Yeah this album is not great. Dream Theater has always been very inconsistent but holy hell this is bad, bloated, and poorly strung together.

at this point I feel like I'm the only one who enjoyed this

I never like bloated albums. The Wall suffers from this same issue. As does Ayreon's The Human Equation and Porcupine Tree's The Incident. And like this album, they would have all benefited from cutting the album's length in half.
|
| |
I've never seen The Wall as bloated, whenever I listen to it the time flies and every song feels like it has a place.

I wouldn't say that the time flies when listening to The Wall, but I wouldn't call it bloated either.
|
| |
Put simply, it doesn't feel like an 80 minute album.

Well I can give you that, though there are a couple tracks that I can't stand and they feel long for me, Mother being one of them
