you know if i had never looked at genres outside what i used to like i'd still be listening to generic metalcore and deathcore, rather than enjoying a wide and eclectic variety of artists from across the musical spectrum

and lol, i've actually listened to a lot of music other than prog. prog is almost 50% of my ratings because i specifically broadened my horizons in that genre two years ago, while before that i was into more casual shit like arctic monkey or serj tankian and such. as for rap, i've listened to a ton of it, but i cant bring myself to enjoying it because it focuses too little on the musical aspect and too much on the lyrical (which i dont care about very much)
atm i'm getting more into metal, but it doesnt mean im omitting other shit. in fact, im keen on listening to newer music
